Davisville Tennis Club is a very active and social community tennis club operating in the heart of Toronto (Mt. Pleasant and Davisville). Over the course of the summer months, we endeavour to give our members a truly unique and positive experience that comes from sharing moments and time with your DTC friends.

It also comes from playing a lot of tennis. If you are new to the sport we offer beginner classes, round robins and orientation to get you familiar with the game and comfortable on the court. For the more advanced player, we have both A and B intercounty teams, tournaments, and ladder play.

Davisville offers a lot to our members. Some of our highlights include:

• 500 Members - many of them active and so there is always someone around to play with

• 6 fully lit courts - resurfacing will happen in July of 2010

• No court Fees - once you are a member, you can play as much as you want to at no additional charge

• Tag Up System - perhaps our most unique feature. The tag-up system of play allows you to find matches at your level whenever you want to play. For more information click here.

• Free Tennis balls - its true! We change them every 2 hours.

• Staff - there is always someone working during Davisville hours to enhance your experience

• Full Clubhouse Facilities - with free refreshments, instructional videos and really nice trophies

• Lessons - if your game needs a tune up or overhaul, our fully qualified club pro can help bring your game to the next level

Deferred Membership

Members of Davisville Tennis Club in 2009 have the option to put their membership on hold for the upcoming season.

If a member chooses not to return in the current year, the deferred membership allows for the member to be considered for membership the following year BEFORE the waiting list is considered. Deferred membership will NOT allow the member to have playing privileges.

Deferred membership features:

• Applicable for both Adult and Jr. Members
• Applications for Deferred Memberships must be
• received before the returning member cut off date – March 15, 2010
• A member can obtain a Deferred Membership for no more than 2 consecutive years
• A member must be in ‘Good Standing’ to qualify for a Deferred Membership
• There will be no refunds offered on Deferred Memberships
• For the purposes of DTC Social Events only, Deferred Members will be considered members
• Deferred Members will not be allowed to vote at general membership meetings

Associate Membership

An ‘associate’ or ‘social’ member of Davisville is appropriate for any individual that wants to be involved in all of our social activities. An associate member does not have any playing privileges.

Associate membership features:

• Applications for Associate memberships will be accepted at any time and are good for one year
• A member can continue to be an Associate member for an indefinite length of time
• There will be no refunds offered on Associate memberships
• There are no limits to the number of Associate memberships at DTC
• Obtaining an Associate membership will not change a person’s position on the waiting list.
• Associate members will not be allowed to vote at general membership meetings

Honorary Membership

Honorary Memberships at Davisville Tennis Club are awarded to senior members who have made tremendous contributions to the life and development of the club. An Honorary Lifetime Membership must be recommended by the Executive Committee and then may be conferred upon any Senior Member by a resolution passed by not less than two-thirds of the votes cast at an annual or special general meeting.

When you correctly complete the form under the registration tab, DTC will send out a registration confirmation email to you. When payment has been received and processed, a membership confirmation email will be sent out to you at the email provided.

Returning Members

Opened on February 1, 2010. Newsletters (with applications) will arrive to you shortly. Returning members have until March 15, 2010 to deliver their applications (online or by email), with payments to the club to guarantee their spots. After this time, returning members will be considered on a first come / first serve basis along with all other applicants assuming spots exist after the waiting list is processed. Please do not risk this. Welcome back everyone!

Waiting List Applicants - PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

We will start accepting applications from those on the waiting list on February 20, 2010. If you are on the waiting list, you MUST reapply to the club with payment by March 15, 2010 to have your spot on the waiting list renewed. On March 16, 2010, we will start accepting new members into the club from the waiting list from those that have reapplied and paid in the order that they appear on the list. If your application is NOT accepted, Davisville will not process any payments but will add you to the waiting list for 2011. We hope to see you at the club this summer! The waiting list will close on February 1, 2010. If you are not on our waiting list, please read the information under ‘New Applicants’.

New Applicants - PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

If you are interested in applying for membership after February 1, 2010 you must apply directly for membership and send your payment to the club starting on February 20, 2010. Your applications and payments will be processed starting on March 16, 2010 in the order that they were received by the club if there are spots left over after the waiting list applicants have been processed. If your application is NOT accepted, Davisville will not process any payments but will add you to the waiting list for 2011. We have our fingers crossed for you!
